projectKOREA

Since its inception 3 years ago in 2008, projectKOREA has become an internationally recognized event. The purpose of this production is to immerse the audience in the ultimate Korean culture experience, both traditional and modern. It is an educational experience that also makes you laugh, cry and even scream at times. This year will be its fourth year, and since the event has only been getting better every year – we can only expect the best again from projectKOREA IV 2011!

projectKOREA III: A KSA Cinderella Story

feat. Decipher, Johnnphlo, Clara Chung & AOM with Jay Park, ChaCha, Dialtone & Junior

Based off the hit TV-KDrama “Goong” aka “The Princess Hours”, “A KSA Cinderella Story” followed the journey of a normal girl-turned princess in a hypothetical world where Korea’s royal family still thrived in modern times. Born into a world of technology and modern amenities, the princess was thrust into a world of traditions and culture in the royal household. Her frustrations later led to the discovery of the importance of embracing and balancing Korean traditions and culture while living in the year 2009. It was a production with over 100 student actors and dancers involved. The audience also laughed and screamed in delight when the stage came to life with renditions of 2PM’s “Heartbeat”, T-ara’s “Bopeep” and other popular K-pop dances.

During the second half, perfomances by Korean-American rappers Johnnyphlo and Decipher bumped up the energy in the theatre. Clara Chung, Kollaboration 10 winner, also stole the hearts of many guys in the audience. Of course the highlight was the headliner of the event, Art of Movement with members Jay Park, ChaCha, Dialtone and Junior.

Who could forget Jay’s “Single Ladies” performance?
